Week 12 - Off and Back On Again

So Zachary had too many episodes where his blood saturation of Oxygen dropped too low while he was off the ventilator.  Even the scuba mask didn't seem to help.  The docs had to put him back on the vent at 4am Thursday.

Since he has been on the vent, he has been doing really well.  Every test shows that he is tolerating the vent.  The docs are going to take Zachary into the OR again on Monday to send a scope down into his trachea (airway) to see if there is a problem.

Thank you all for praying.  As we update the blog we forget to thank everyone for reading this.  We have learned that by posting regularly on the blog, the Body of Christ can constantly wrap us in prayer.  The docs have said to us repeatedly that we are different than other parents.  We then try to take the time to explain what makes us different (Christ).  We have never shared our faith more than these last few months.

Please continue to pray for us.  Please spread the word about us.  We are not sure what the outcome will be but we are trusting God and asking Him to close all the other doors so that our decision is simple no matter what.  We leave you with this passage:

Psalm 119: 103-120
103How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.
105Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
106I have taken an oath and confirmed it,
that I will follow your righteous laws.
107I have suffered much;
preserve my life, Lord, according to your word.
108Accept, Lord, the willing praise of my mouth,
and teach me your laws.
109Though I constantly take my life in my hands,
I will not forget your law.
110The wicked have set a snare for me,
but I have not strayed from your precepts.
111Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.
112My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.d
113I hate double-minded people,
but I love your law.
114You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in your word.
115Away from me, you evildoers,
that I may keep the commands of my God!
116Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live;
do not let my hopes be dashed.
117Uphold me, and I will be delivered;
I will always have regard for your decrees.
118You reject all who stray from your decrees,
for their delusions come to nothing.
119All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross;
therefore I love your statutes.
120My flesh trembles in fear of you;
I stand in awe of your laws.

  1. Continuing to pray dear ones. I know this precious little angel in safely held in God's loving care. I know that this is all working a plan that only He could orchestrate. A wonderful plan. Your faithful witness to the doctors and nurses and honestly to all of us is inspiring. Those who don't know Him, will surely see Him through your example and daily witness of His goodness, faithfulness and loving care for Zachary. God bless you all and surround you with His peace that passes all understanding.
