What a week

For the first couple of days, Becky and I thought that sleep was as much a figment of our imagination as hobbits and elven swords.  Zachary would get up every 30 minutes or every hour depending on his mood.  We are changing tactics tonight and limiting the machines hooked up to him.  We think that when the machines beep, they wake him up and irritate him.  Let's pray that he gets a good night's rest.  (Even as I typed up this post, I had to go in Zachary's room, 3x to comfort him back to sleep.

God, however gave me an opportunity to share what He has done in my life to four coworkers this week alone.  I have a captive audience when they hear that I have a really sick kid.  I never would have thought that God would let me share what He has done in our lives so often.

This song accurately reflects our mood/focus.

I will post more as I have time... Here are some pics of the last couple days.
Becky unhooking Zachary's machines.  You can see on the left one of our favorite CVICU nurses!
Zachary's machine turned off for the first time in his life!
Bec said, "I just want to pick him up and hold him without all of those machines!!"

He went home with his oxygen and feeding tube as seen in his pic.

Look at all of his stuff!

PCH was a great hospital to take care of Zachary!

Micah and Josiah seeing Zachary for the first time at home.

Curiosity all around

Zachary's Grandma Lisa was there as well.

About an hour after Zachary came home, Josiah realized he wasnt the youngest anymore.

  1. What beautiful pictures! What a blessing to have little Zachary home! Thank you for the blessing your family has been in my life as you have shared your journey with Zachary. And for the privilege and honor to pray for this sweet little one. May the days ahead continue to be filled the grace, mercy and the never failing love of our Heavenly Father as He continues to heal Zachary. God bless you all.

    The Message (MSG)
    A Love That Will Grow

3-6 Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present. There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.
We love you and continue to pray!
