Three Things

Yea, its been awhile since we last posted... Lots has happened.  Here is a quick recap.

Shirts

- We are so thankful for everyone who bought shirts for Zachary.  The organization said that the normal order is for 50 shirts and with your help, we more than triple the average!  Thank you all.

WEAR THE SHIRT THIS THURSDAY

- Send us pictures of you wearing the shirt and we will post them here.  If you didn't get to order a shirt, wear red this Thursday.

- Zachary is going to spend a couple days at Phoenix Children's because he is undergoing several tests (heart catheterization and bronchial stent check).  These procedures will see if Zachary will need heart surgery in the next couple of weeks or in the next couple of months.  The same goes for his bronchial stent.

We are working with the docs to have a G-Tube placed.  This will allow the feeds to bypass his nose and put a port right on his side in his stomach.  Since he is going to be feeding on the pump for a while (few more months) this will be a better solution.  Also, babies that have the NG tube for extended periods of time have a difficult time talking because the NG tube vibrates in their throat.

Hope Kids reminds us to focus on the hope that Christ gives us continually.  They remind us to see how God is moving in our lives.  They remind us that hope does not disappoint (Romans 5:5).

To be honest, being a dad of a special kid is quite challenging.  I have never felt so helpless at times to provide for Zachary.  I have also had a challenging time trying to focus my attitude and not get frustrated over the small things.

This organization understands the struggle that all dads face, but especially dads with special kids.  Their encouragement is a total God send.

Fire Station Tour

This week we were able to tour the Scottsdale airpark fire station.  IT WAS AWESOME!!  I rode in the truck with Micah and Josiah as we got a tour in the airpark foam truck.  We even got to use both of the water cannons (Think 1500 gallons per min!)
