Christmas Time

Today as I drove to the hospital and walked in, there stood our favorite security guard. He is a portly black man with a huge grin.  He is always SO happy and makes it his job to bring a smile to passersby.  I told him yesterday of our good news and as I came in this morning he started dancing and saying, "Today's the day! Today's the day!"

I have never felt so excited going to the hospital.  But today is like Christmas.  I get to bring my baby home!!!!!

Zachary did great the last couple of days. His chest tube all of a sudden stopped leaking fluid.  This meant he has healed on his own and NO surgery is needed.  They pulled the tube yesterday and the docs said if he does fine over night; which he did, he would get to come home.

So here I sit today waiting for the discharge paperwork!!!  I've never felt so much happiness and joy to bring my little man home and even before his first birthday on Wednesday!!!
